Textbooks are a major cost for college. The text for my operations management course costs over $200 at the college bookstore. Because it is a new book and a first edition, there are few used book alternatives. Digital e-books are available. However, renting this text is possible. Renting textbooks is a viable alternative based on the economics of textbook purchasing. Alternatives for renting textbooks include local bookstores as well as major online sources.
